I'm finding it hard to find time when the weather is horrible. It's raining cats and dogs or it's super windy. I don't want to run when the weather is intense because I feel it in my bones even worst. The day after and the day after that. It's harder to just get up and go after a long run that has horrible weather.
I think I'm starting to find that I can run longer with out pain. This is nice until the run is done and my knees start to bother me.
I have been trying to drink more water but it's hard. It's boring. I cleaned this house from top to bottom this weekend. So finding inspiration in running is a challenge. I think if I look on line at music videos and see the body types I want then that might get me in the groove.
I also got a special treat from world's best fience today. He got me a running Rebox dry fit shirt. It's black and longer. I will have to try it out tonight. I will be trying to do my big run tomorrow when the weather is nice.

Whooooooooooooot Whoooooooot.
I ran on the windies day of the year. It was the hardest run ever by the end. I did find that the wind pushed me even harder and faster when I was coming back. It was pretty good. I ran like the wind.
I picked up a new water bottle carrier that goes around my waist and it holds my MP3. Super great. I also got new running pants because the middle of my pants were falling apart. They are four years old. It was time.

The Sun is burning.
I had my birthday yesterday and stayed up a little late. Then from there I knew that I am going to get my WEDDING DRESS tonight. So I knew that I wouldn't get a run in. I went this morning and it was wonderful.

Running and running
I feel like my evenings are boring. We always have something or the other person isn't home. Our timetable is off. I don't want to do school work. I don't even want to look at it to be truthful. I need to get things organized but my work is so busy and I'm not into school life right now.
The weather is so beautiful. I just want it to stay like this. It's perfect running weather. Today I was machine though. I biked for 30 mins. then I ran for 3 miles. Then I went for a walk with a great friend and her dog. It was really nice.

Finding Time

Finding time to run and then write is very time consuming. I have been running but at odd times and there has been no routine. I've ran in the morning and then I've ran in the evening. I'm on a new time table and new work hours. Everything is seeming to be a lot easier and I've noticed that I'm not in hyper drive like I use to be. I'm feeling like I'm becoming a little lazy. I will sleep in and then I'm just sorta lax-a-daisy about everything.
Today I ran my 5mile. It hurt at first because I didn't run for two days. My shines hurt and my legs. I ran around the country block. By the end I was not wanting to stop. My music was changed up and I was in the groove. I came home and I took Dora to the park. This was sorta like her long walk. The weather has been horrible for outdoor activities. The snow is slowly going and we have some grass.
Today was super windy. If I don't wear my hoodies over my head and ears I get an ear infection. I think Sunday's are the best days for long runs. I did my ten min. running and then my 1 min. walking. I don't want to over do it. I just want to finish this marathon. Then on the next one I will rock it and make it to Boston. I just want to run Boston once in my life.
Massy is a qualifier for Boston. Even if we do it this year that would be a big enough goal. I am really hoping this nice weather that's coming will help with me keeping on routine.
I'm going dress shopping in the middle of April and I am hoping that I have at least toned up a little. I'm going to keep to my running.
Remember when your running, look up and around at the world....because if you keep your head down your missing out on the beauty. If you trip on a rock and fall... you were meant to fall and take a break and look around at what your missing.
Our task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.

Running Around with my head cut off!
Well from the subject line thats how life has been. I just started my new job and everything with training has finally finished. It's been super hectic. I went for a run last night and it was nice. I put my old songs onto the mp3 and then jammed it up. So tonight I'm going to try to go again.
Wish me luck.

Fridger-8er-race
I feel that I had a horrible race. I was to quick off the start. I totally ran hard and then by 2 k I was out of breath and I wanted to end the race right there. I actually wanted to walk. I wanted to stop.
It was such nice weather out too. Which was great. I wore to many layers. I was only my time for about 2 mins from 2007 race. Which is still good. It's nice to have that insight of where I am now with training.
I am going to run harder and keep to my training plans.
Along with success comes a reputation for wisdom.

Show Shoeing
Snow shoeing is overwhelming my body right now. I am so sore. I hurt pretty much everywhere. It was a good work out. I do not recommend wearing a pack to start off with. Go solo and don't wear a lot of clothing.
I biked today and I have no energy to go for a run. I know this is the best time to go for a run.
WE ARE ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Walking across the lake. It was magical. Unexpected. Perfect. Magical.
We have been getting into the grove of the working week today. I went and visited a few friends tonight to announce our engagement. It's been wonderful. It has been super long days now with starting my new job and still doing my other jobs. I am looking forward to only having one job and not three.
Then the organizing for the wedding will be on like Donkey Kong!!!!!!!!!!! Whoooooot Whooooooooooot

I haven't been that good on my training this week. I've been starting my new job and working longer hours. Learning new things and stepping out my confort zone. It's been great though. I got up yesterday morning and got my 2 miles in. I wanted to take the dog for a walk but she wouldn't leave the house. What a girl.
I had a really long day yesterday. I got up and went for a run. Then I had program at 7:30-9:15am. Then off to Coop, from 9:30-3:00pm, then off to after school...3:35-5:30pm ohhh and then off to school....an hour drive to Conestoga and then listen to a teacher that could have assigned that stuff at home. It was a test review so we felt that we should have went. It was just a waste of time. Hopefully I learned sometime for the test. Well see next week. Then I got home and I still had to pack for this weekend.
Were off to the cottage to go snow shoeing. This will be an adventure. It's been in the making for over six months. I am just running out of steam. I got a book from the library and I'm going to veg and show shoe. Eat lots and break my diet rules.
Monday I'm going to do my five mile run. I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day and Family day with all their friends and family.

Run Like The Wind

Yesterday's run was great. I felt great. I had a Red Bull before and I ran like the wind. Nothing hurt!
I went to Toronto last night. I have been super stressed. I passed my test for my insurance license. I am about to change jobs and start a new path in life. Which I/we are very excited about. I can't wait! It's a Monday-Friday, 9 - 5pm job. Whoooooooooooot Whoooooooooot. I think I should just tell my boss, that if I look like I'm not wanting to be at my job that she should just throw a book at me. That way I will appreciate where I am and remember where I came from.
I am going to start my fourth week tomorrow morning. I haven't been keeping up with my biking as much. Hopefully now that my time is more available I can keep on track.
Tuesday-3 miles
Wednesday-2 miles but I might just do 3.
Thursday-Bike or maybe run 3 miles... it depends on how I feel.
Friday-Rest
Saturday-Snow Shoeing
Sunday-Show Shoeing
Monday- 5 Miles.

Lack of drive

Today I have a very long drive in front me. Then I have a night away from home. So I know that running will be a great release. I have to do 4 miles today. I'm going to take the back roads I think. It's super cold here. To be honest, I'm not looking forwards to this.
My run on Friday evening was great. I felt super charged and ready. I did have a Redbull though. I didn't bike or run yesterday. I wore cotton socks and it helped with the cold. Cotton doesn't let out any wick for sweat but it kept my feet nice and warm.
Wish me luck for today. I see the sun is shinning and it looks nice out but it's sooooooooooooooo cold.

Two Day Post
I did remember to write yesterday after my run but if you know me, you would understand that sometimes my life is hectic and way to busy. I didn't have enough time and I was studying in bed and then all of sudden 10:30pm rolling in and I was ready to hit the hay. I biked today for 30 minutes and did weight training. I even gave myself a little treat. A really tasty treat from a store in Paris, Ontario. If you ever get a chance go to their chocolate store. They make great gifts too.
The weather hasn't been windy lately so that has been really nice.
I've been studying my brains out lately. Which makes running really great. It's a release from all the stress.
The groundhog determined that we will have winter for the next six weeks. I don't mind that because we are going snow shoeing next weekend for Family/Valentine's Day Weekend.
I have noticed that my body is a little different on my sides. Nothing to brag about but I do feel and see a difference. It's like when you go for your first tan and you think you look darker but everyone else doesn't. It's like that.
"I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." ~ quoted By Albert Einstein~
Sorry, I like this one too.

Basically he saying that you should get your running shoes on and get running instead of reading about my running experiences. Live a little. Try it out. I double dog dare you. Run for 6 mins. First min, walking, second min jogging, ect. If you can walk you can run.
xoxo

Running Complete for this week. WHOOOT WHOOT
This early morning I did my 3 mile. WOW was it ever cold. Negative 17! There wasn't a wind so it wasn't that bad. After the first ten minutes I started to warm up and the mittens came off. I some how have lost my one Running Room mitten. Again. I'm pretty sure I'm onto my third round of mittens. Those are the best mittens.
I did see bunny foot prints in the snow. It was really neat. That's the joys of running outside.
Running is clearing my head when it comes to stressful situations at work. Whenever a stressful situation rolls in it really doesn't compare to the harsh run I did that morning. I just think it could be worst. Running is hard work.
Now my handsome boyfriend, my wonderful doggie and I are making dinner together. I'm breaking the diet and drinking some wine. Tomorrow were going to see about sending our dog to doggie daycare. This should be interesting. We just want her to get more social with other dogs. Keep you posted.
What this power is I cannot say; all I know is that it exists and it becomes available only when a man is in that state of mind in which he knows exactly what he wants and is fully determined not to quit until he finds it.

Resting
Yesterdays run took a toll on my body. Today was a snow day and non working day. So I studied all day....maybe a little nap with Dora too. I am not on the motivational train for working out. I'm still wearing the same p.j's that I woke up in. I'm rocking the sweet bed head too.
I did try really hard to not get into the cupboard to much though. Tomorrow I will get back into the groove. Hopefully the weather isn't as bad as it was today.
It was super cute to see our dog run though the snow though. Back to studying.
We learn wisdom from failure much more than success. We often discover what we will do, by finding out what we will not do.

Evening Running
I just got done running my 3 mile run. I woke up at 5:ooam this morning thinking about how I don’t know exactly how long this will take me. So I just thought that I would change it up and run tonight instead. I did get up and take Dora for an early walk and then I jumped on the bike for 30 minutes and read. I know that I am for sure a morning runner. I find night time more draining. I also notice more aches and pains in the evening. I think it’s because I give 110% through the day and the evenings are my down time.
Tonight’s run was a little mixture of all the streets. I didn’t know where I was going and what my route was. I had my Garmin 101 on to help with distance. Its older then dirt but it does the job. I don’t need a big fancy device.
One great thing that I am happy about with this Blog is that it does motivate me. I was thinking on my run tonight what I should write about. I was thinking of more ideas in my head to not concentrate on how cold it was outside. It was negative ten tonight. The wind felt like it was negative sixteen. My face feels like it was negative 40!
Tomorrow morning I’m going to do the same run that I did tonight. My time tonight was 37.51.16. That is super slow for a 3 mile. I know it’s only winter running and it’s like running on sand. Tomorrow I will do better.
Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them—a desire, a dream, a vision.

Early AM
I got up and I was totally ready. I went for the run and I'm finding James Morrison music really motivating. It makes you think about all the good in your life. Instead of my boy break up-hate songs from Rihanna.
My Kellogg diet totally makes me hungry. I have been drinking more water too. Let's hope this helps with keeping me balanced with my calories. I am so hungry though.
It's so icy outside. I got out of my car and I fell down on both of my knees. I am hoping that I don't feel them tomorrow.
I stretched during my down time at work but I still feel a little out of sorts. Tonight I will have a nice dinner to kick start my energy for tomorrow.

My Personal Fitness Pal.
This is my progress... It's not progressing right now. I am learning how I am over eating and need to simmer down on the treats and the intake of food. It's super helpful and helps me be aware. I am noticing that cheese is raking up my calories. After living without cheese for a year in China I just can't get enough of it. Cheese is so tasty.
I'm going to try to do the cereal diet. That way I stay on track of my eating habits. The only part is that I'm going to be thinking about it even more so I might look at the cupboards more. I'm going to put up sticky notes on my fridge and cupboard. The fridge is going to have the word "my skinny pants" on it. The cupboard is going to have the word "marathon". Let's pray for me.
This is hard work. I am hungry just thinking about this.
It's raining outside. I changed up my workout plan this morning. I biked for 30 minutes and I did weights with some abs. I cleaned like a machine. Hopefully the weather cooperates for tomorrow morning. I am looking forward to my morning run. I don't think running in the rain is a good idea this early on in the game because my body is getting use to all this transitional running schedule. I will get a cold and then it will be even harder on me. So changing it up is ah ok with me.
Last week I completed the training plan. Here is my agenda for the week.
Monday-Bike @ 30
Tuesday-2 miles
Wednesday-3 miles
Thursday-3 miles
Friday-Rest
Saturday-Bike @ 30
Sunday-Bike @ 30
Let's hope the weather holds out for me.
Some motivation: Watch Leap Year and listen to James Morrison. Very lovey dovey stuff and it keeps you happy. This also keeps your thoughts positive and thinking of great ideas for Valentine's Day and everyday love life stuff.
Stop thinking about food and think about your skinny jeans.

Resting
Today is my rest day. I completely have to watch what I eat that is for sure. This www.myfitnesspal.com is telling me I am over my daily intake for the day. It's so hard to cut away the goodies. This will be my hardest test. I will be able to run to the end of the earth and back but giving up bad but ohhhhhhhhhhhh so good food will be the hardest part.
I just have to remember my skinny jeans that I want to fit into. I think I will hang them up right beside my fridge for a reminder.

Saturday Slump
I got up later then usual. I felt a little lazy but I think I needed it. I woke up at 11am. My idea was to put James Morrison on the MP3 and then go running and get my motor running. I got ready and started running and then when I went to turn around to go back home the wind hit me like a tune of bricks. It felt like someone was holding my jacket and I was running in one spot. My face was super red and wind burnt.
I honestly hated every minute of it. I wanted to stop and walk home. I wanted to take off my shoes and hang them up until Spring. I didn't stop even though I wanted too. I pushed harder and turned up the volume on the MP3.

Friday Fries
I am fried out. Nothing left and I just want to veg. So I am going to switch up my time table and move my last running day to tomorrow. Which is good and that way I can rest up for my last run of the week. I think Saturdays will be my last day for my long runs anyway. I usually hit up Zehrs and that takes me into 6:30pm and also we have dinner. Friday is usually a late evening and off routine.
Tomorrow I will blog about my last run of my first week of training.

Out of Steam
I didn't wake up at my normal time. I slept in and this totally threw me off. I woke up at 6:30am instead of 5:00am. I didn't do my biking until 1:30pm today. I read my materials for my test while I was biking.
I really didn't want to do it today. I'm glad I did though. I feel a head cold starting up. Gross kids keep wiping their grossness (this is actually a word, I spelled checked it) on me. So it's only a matter of time.
I biked for the 30 minutes and then I did 10 girl push ups. It got me out of my slump. I got into the shower and now I can take on the world.
Today is my long day with school in the evening. This engine is still chugging away.

Today was a slow morning. I had a few glasses of wine the night before. I really think if I am going to do a run the next day, I will just have one glass of wine and then a glass of water in between. I'll try this...keep you posted. I wasn't over my minutes but I pushed harder and it felt harder.
The back of my right leg was feeling a little stretched. I'm resting up tonight and studying. So it will be low key.
I'm drinking more water today. I'm hitting up Zehrs tonight. I'm thinking more fish in our diet. I'm checking out Kraft Cooking Canada website for a nice romantic meal for tonight. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Biking in the AM
I only have a stationary bike and five pound weights. This does the trick. I bike for 30 minutes and then I pick up my weights and do reps. I do different style of arm exercises. I really like the one that goes behind your head and you lift up and down. I can feel it and I know it works. You know when your waving at someone and then the bottom of your arm moves quicker then your hand. Totally not hot. I don't have that but I don't want that either when I get older. This arm workout does the trick.
Major needed accessory for running and life. Face lotion. Wind burn will development even more if you have dry skin on your face. Nothing is more harsh and annoying then wind burn. Usually you only need to apply it once a day. Don't over do it because you will break out.
I woke up with the snuffles. I've been washing my hands a lot and using anti bacterial lotion on my hands but I feel the thunder rolling in. I am drinking lots of water and watching my healthy habits.
I was reading about how much alcohol you should consume when your trying to train. It's different for each person.

First Day
I stayed up late watching Sherlock Holmes. A little long but worth watching. I woke up only thinking about more sleep.
I kept thinking about I have to change this thought somehow. I thought about how I wanted to fit better in my clothes and have a rocking superstar body on the beach next year. That is what got me out of my at 5am. Also our dog.... who is wonderful.
One thing I need to improve on is organization with my running stuff. I couldn't find my mp3. I was searching all around the house. We are in the middle of renovation's and our dresser is covered with a blanket. On Wednesday, my stuff will be placed together.
My eyes were so sleepy that when I put my contacts in they burned like the flames of hell. I cleaned my solutions so hopefully that helps.
I was wasting valuable hot water shower time. So my lesson from that run is to have everything together and ready the night before.
I changed my work out clothes too. I didn't wear my Running Room coat. I felt like it was sucking the circulation off my hands. I just wore my very bright reflective shirt with my hoodie sweater. The first step was the hardest and then after that everything kept moving.
It was actually not that cold out this morning. My back right leg hurt a little but all runners have something not feeling top performance. I'm going to stretch it out more today.
Overall, great first day at training.

Training Plan
Each week I am going to put up my training schedule. I have the full outline but I can't get it to stay in the exact boxes. It's all jammed together. If you want a peak, just drop me a line in the comments box and send me your email and I will send it to you. If I already know your email just send me a quick note.
Each morning I get up at 5:00am. Now that my training is finally here I will get up and go for my run and stay on my training plan. I have put the longer runs on the Friday evenings in the start just because I think it will be easier for my schedule. That way I can have my weekends to rest up and not worry about what I have to do next. These will most likely be my cheat days with food. I will also be cutting down on my drinking.
I will start drinking more water. I will try really hard to drink the whole 8 glasses. I have read that amount is not the best amount. The best amount for yourself is when you’re thirsty. Don't over do it and don't under do it.

Creating The Beginning
I woke up this morning and felt inspired from watching that movie Julia and Julie. Also were learning about Blogging in our Interpersonal Communications class at Conestoga College. I am finding it actually useful compared to the rest of the classes I've taken. I'm not hip with technology.
Anyway, I wanted to try to find motivation in my training and connect. I have been so busy to remember to take time for me and others.
I thought this might be encouraging for me because people will be reading this and knowing that I could and should be doing better with it. Also this gives people and update on how life is going.
Right now I am currently studying for a very large exam. So my running will help with releasing my stress. My job is stressful and constantly negative....maybe that's harsh but let's say around 75%. This will be one of my outlets. My home life is wonderful-amazing and all the good stuff.
I start running on Monday. The training is for twenty four weeks. I am going to write about my runs, my food, my sleep,my days and my motivations. I will find this difficult because finding time and writing does take some time. I will do my best.
I'm going to try to keep this all positive. Try, is the key word in that sentence.
Were running The Friendly Massey Marathon.
I want this blog to help others lace up their shoes and hit the pavement. I am just like any one else. I have obligations and responsiblies that do take my time as well. I have things I don't want to do and things I have to do. Sometimes they run into the same category.
My inspirational quotes: If you can walk, you can run. You can do anything you strive for. Just believe.
Inspirational quote: from Aristotle.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.
